Parish Erected in Quezon

On April 23, 2010, during the Solemn Eucharistic Celebration, Bishop Ramon B. Villena, DD, erected a new parish in the Diocese of Bayombong—the St. Francis of Assisi Parish which is located in Caliat, Quezon, Nueva Vizcaya. The DECREE which was promulgated by Bishop Ramon, stated, “After having considered thoroughly the needs of the faithful of St. Michael the Archangel Quasi-parish in Quezon, Nueva Vizcaya, and after consulting the council of priests of the diocese, I, Most Rev. Ramon B. Villena, DD, by the Grace of God and the Favor of the Apostolic See, Bishop of Bayombong, hereby erect this particular church into a parish with Caliat, Quezon, Nueva Vizcaya as its principal seat. St. Francis of Assisi, being a lover of the environment, friend of needy and poor and founder of the Order of Franciscan Minors, will be designated as its principal patron. Let this particular church in Caliat, Quezon, Nueva Vizcaya be known as St. Francis of Assisi Parish.”
